THE funeral was held yesterday of a young boy killed when a car mounted the pavement and ran into him.
Sam Riddall, 11, died after leaving a youth club service in Bristol, on May 1.
Sam’s family -– father Martin, 45, mother Rachel, 39, and three brothers aged five, nine and 14 – were expected to attend a service for him at Woodlands Church, in Bristol.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Avon and Somerset Police said: “The parents of Sam would like to thank the media for their co-operation and assistance during this investigation.
“This is a very difficult time for both Rachel and Martin Riddall, their children and extended family. All have been through a tragic and life-changing ordeal. ”
Hannah Saaf, 27, from Bristol, has been remanded in custody accused of causing Sam’s death by dangerous driving. She is due to appear at Bristol Crown Court today.
