A MAN was jailed indefinitely for a sexual assault on a teenager as she slept in her bedroom.
William Warbis, 37, of Ruskin Street, Kirkdale, admitted the offence.
Liverpool Crown Court heard that Warbis crept into the 19-year-old’s bedroom at 7.30am, while he was under the influence of alcohol and cocaine.
He then began to have sex with the woman while she slept.
During the trial, the court heard that the victim had returned to the house in Kirkdale in the early hours, after going out with a friend.
Warbis had called at the house earlier in the day and established the victim was on her own. Warbis gained access to the front bedroom through an open window. Deborah Gould, defending, said Warbis believed the victim was awake and consenting to sex because he was under the influence of drugs.
Judge David Boulton said Warbis posed a high risk of serious harm to the public.
