Residents quizzed on bridge
RESIDENTS and businesses were asked about current travel using the existing bridge and their views towards a new tolled bridge.
Around 84% of Halton businesses and 78% of non-Halton businesses surveyed complained about congestion on the A557 and existing bridge.
Over 80% supported the proposals, with 46% showing strong support.
Of the residents surveyed, most strongly agreed a new crossing was needed.
They identified benefits including a positive impact on the local economy.
But they also complained about the negative effects of tolling.
