THE Government has awarded a £4m grant to scientists conducting research into stem cell treatments for broken bones.
Teams at Imperial College London and the universities of Keele, Nottingham and Southampton will look at how stem cell technology can be used to repair human skeletal tissue.
The new funding is being distributed by the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), which decides how public money should be spent on different aspects of biological science.
