City’s Rocket blackspot claims another life
A YOUNG driver has been killed and two people injured after a crash at the Rocket Interchange, in Liverpool, yesterday.
Emergency services were called to the M62 close to The Rocket car wash centre at 4.25pm.
A grey convertible Mini Cooper was found on its roof with glass covering the city-bound carriageway.
A second car, a Volkswagen Golf, was also badly damaged in the crash.
Merseyside Police cordoned off a large area and North West Ambulance Service paramedics were called.
The 33-year-old VW Golf driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The occupants of the Mini, a 46-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman, managed to escape serious injury but were treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Royal Hospital casualty department for a precautionary check-up. Their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
