New Brighton Lifeboat rescue photographer stranded close to Wallasey

A HOVERCRAFT rescue helped deliver a panicky photographer from rapidly rising tides last night.

New Brighton Lifeboat was alerted to the danger at about 8.20pm and swiftly dispatched its mini- hovercraft.

A lone snapper, thought to be in his 30s, had become trapped on a sandbank near Harrison Drive, Wallasey, after unpredictable tides surrounded him.

A member of the coastguard waded up to his shoulders to help calm the stranded man as the hovercraft made its way to the scene.

He was quickly pulled on board before being taken safely back to his Wirral home.
