A MAJORITY of people would be “proud and pleased” to see parents leave a gift to charity in their will ,even if most of the estate was given away, according to a new survey.

Research into 1,050 adults in the UK carried out last month showed 89% of people would approve of their parents giving a gift to a charity in their will.

Only 7% of people said they thought a donation to charity by a parent in a will would be “eccentric”. according to the research, with 63% saying they would be “most proud” if their parents considered a cancer or children’s welfare charity.
