Children in Wirral learn about our Viking ancestors
CHILDREN got a glimpse of how the Vikings used to live over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Birkenhead Priory hosted a festival dedicated to the people who left their mark on Britain over 1,000 years ago.
There were demonstrations of the Vikings’ ancient crafts and an insight into how they followed their everyday lives.
Members of the Wirhalh Skip-Felag also offered sessions on woodcarving, food and textiles, leather working, weaponry, spinning, dyeing and weaving and children’s games and toys.
The event was organised through Wirral council and participants dressed up as Vikings.
