Liverpool company's bungee-jumping tango dancers hit the heights

Ms Hesketh, an alumna of the London Contemporary School of Dance, has performed her imaginative brand of art from Barcelona to New Zealand, where she was commissioned to create an original dance performance for the premiere of the third Lord of The Rings film, The Return Of The King.

She said: “That is one of my favourite memories, just having that many people looking at me at once – it was so exciting.”

Based at The Higher Space, a performance centre in Cotton Street, next door to the Ceri Hand Gallery, Wired Aerial Theatre is currently tweaking its forthcoming show, Fervorosa, which mixes the drama and passion of tango with the aerial grace of bungee jumps.

It premieres in Blackpool this weekend, with the intention of developing three duets and creating a lengthier show to tour later in the year.

Wired Aerial Theatre has also been commissioned for various theatrical performances, including by pop star Pink, who needed a whole new set of harness equipment for her act.

Ms Hesketh also passed her unique expertise onto a new generation of dancers recently, teaming up with young people who wanted to combine their street jazz variety with aerial performances for an event dubbed Twisted Circus.

It will be held at Huyton leisure centre on Saturday, May 30.
