Thai blessing at Liverpool Albert Dock for dragon boat crew

A DRAGON boat was given a special Thai blessing at Liverpool’s Albert Dock.

The Pool of Life team consists of breast cancer survivors from Liverpool and the North West.

In 2006, they attended the sport’s first world championships in Singapore.

The blessing was organised in conjunction with the Chaophraya Thai Restaurant and Palm Sugar Lounge, which is set to open in the city’s new Liverpool One shopping complex. The team trains at the water sports centre at Queens Dock, Liverpool, every Sunday morning and on Thursday evenings.

Next year, it will compete in a dragon boat festival in Canada.
