YOUNGER people are in a “shocking state of ignorance” over seasonal foods, campaigners claim.
The Eat Seasonably campaign found a quarter of 16-24-year-olds think peas are in season all year, compared with 4% of those aged 55 or over.
One in five 16 to 24-year-olds think sweet corn is in season all year round and one in five also think cauliflowers “grow below the ground”, the survey showed.
