World premiere of intimate new exhibition on former Beatle John Lennon’s home life in Liverpool
UNIQUE and intimate images of John Lennon’s home life will go on display in Liverpool next month.
The exhibition, White Feather: The Spirit Of Lennon, was put together by John’s first wife, Cynthia, and their son, Julian.
Beginning with John and Cynthia’s meeting at Liverpool art college, it follows the journey of their clandestine marriage and the birth of Julian, culminating in the story of their separation and divorce.
The exhibition takes its name from the White Feather Foundation, a charity set up by Julian to promote environmental and humanitarian issues.
He said: “John Lennon is an idol to millions of people who grew up loving his music and ideals, but to me he is the father I loved and lost.”
The exhibition opens at The Beatles Story, within the new Mersey Ferries terminal building, on June 17, and continues until December 31.
