The Hotel Bristol in Paris _300
A BANKRUPT businessman is being hunted by French police after his girlfriend was found battered to death.
Ian Griffin, 40, who grew up in Warrington and lived close by for many years, disappeared in his grey Porsche before his girlfriend’s body was found in an exclusive Paris hotel.
Kinga Legg, his wealthy 36-year-old partner, died from internal bleeding after being attacked at Hotel Bristol, police said.
Two plain-clothes Cheshire police officers yesterday stood guard outside what was believed to be the home of Bernard Griffin, Griffin’s father, in Houghton Green, Warrington.
They stopped people from approaching the property, saying the family did not want to speak.
Griffin’s Polish girlfriend Ms Legg checked into the luxury hotel alone on Monday night.
Mr Griffin arrived hours later.
It was reported they consumed a large amount of champagne.
Ms Legg’s bruised and naked body was found by a hotel cleaner the following day, by which time Griffin and his Porsche had disappeared.
Blood splatters were found in her room and furniture was smashed. An autopsy revealed she was punched and hit with furniture.
