A 62-YEAR-old man was last night charged with murder.
John Heron was due to appear before Liverpool Magistrates’ Court.
He was arrested by police investigating the murder on Saturday of Colin Grundy- Maginess.
Emergency services were called to Ramsbrook Close, Speke, at around 5pm following reports of a "dispute".
Inside the house they found Mr Grundy-Maginess bleeding heavily. He was taken to hospital by ambulance but died despite efforts to save him.
The pensioner was arrested at the scene and interviewed yesterday morning.
At around lunchtime a Home Office post-mortem was carried out on Mr Grundy- Maginess and the cause of death recorded as a single stab wound to the chest.
The suspect was then re- interviewed in light of the finding and charged last night.
He was set to appear before Liverpool magistrates this morning.
