Liverpool firm in the running for four 2009 Law Society awards

HALLIWELLS dominates the shortlist for this month’s Merseyside legal awards.

Liverpool Law Society announced which firms, teams and individuals are in the running for their 2009 gongs.

With four nominations, Halliwells is head and shoulders ahead of other firms.

But the firm, which has offices on Liverpool’s Old Hall Street, is not in the running for the coveted Law Firm of the Year title.

The judges have chosen two nominees in different categories. St Paul’s Square-based Hill Dickinson and Jackson & Canter are set to square up over the top prize, which was first won by Harkin Lloyd 2007.

Halliwells is vying for Employment Team of the Year, Dispute Resolution Team of the Year, Real Estate Team of the Year and Corporate Team of the Year.

Jonathan Brown, head of the firm’s Liverpool office, told LDP Legal: “We are proud and pleased to be shortlisted for four awards.

“Our Liverpool office has made giant strides in recent years and to be shortlisted in so many categories is a great credit on all our people.”
