A HOMELESS man has admitted killing another man last year.
Ian Cunliffe, 41, appeared at Liverpool Crown Court yesterday and pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of John Crook, 31.
Police found Mr Crook's body after being called to his rented flat on Mill Lane, Wavertree, at 11.05pm on November 1, last year. He had died from multiple injuries.
Cunliffe, of no fixed address, entered a not guilty plea to the charge of murder, but admitted the lesser charge of manslaughter on the grounds of provocation. Wearing a white shirt and silver tie, Cunliffe also denied unlawfully wounding Raymond Clark on the same day and a further charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm on him on August 31, 2008.
The case will be mentioned on June 9 to arrange a new trial date.
