Pietersen back for England

Kevin Pietersen has won his fitness battle with an Achilles injury to play for England in their must-win World Twenty20 showdown against Pakistan at The Oval.

The former England captain, who missed Friday's humiliating defeat against Holland with the problem, passed a fitness test on the Oval outfield and took his place in a line-up showing three changes.

Pietersen was brought in to replace Kent's Rob Key, who was drafted in at late notice to face Holland, off-spinner Graeme Swann ousted Middlesex's Eoin Morgan and Hampshire all-rounder Dimitri Mascarenhas took over from Ryan Sidebottom.
