Miss Liverpool crowned in beauty contest

WITHOUT a hair out of place or a lipstick smudge in sight, the city’s most glamorous girls took to the catwalk to battle for the title of Miss Liverpool.

Hopeful contestants gathered at Liverpool’s Olympia on Friday night to smile and chat their way through the evening with the hope of heading on to the next stage and even to be crowned Miss England.

A string of beautiful girls lined up for the awards which included the well-loved and classic swimwear section as well as the more formal parade of evening gowns.

Girls were also asked to talk about their interests and what they hoped to achieve by getting involved in the competition.

Wallasey-based designer Ally Mac was one of the judges and will now go on to dress the winner Debbie O’Toole, 23, of West Derby when she goes on to represent Merseyside at the next stage of the hotly contended beauty pageant.
