A MAN may have been shot in a revenge attack – after he helped a pub landlord deal with a gang of rowdy youths.
Trouble flared at The Lobster, in Mossway, Croxteth, shortly before 11pm on Friday.
It is understood the pub landlord tried to get rid of a gang of teenagers hanging around the front door. And the 33-year-old victim was one of several regulars who stepped in to help.
The man is now fighting for his life in hospital, where a spokesman said he was in a critical condition. He has already undergone emergency surgery.
The gang is said to have shouted threats before leaving. But, at around 11.15pm, up to seven youths in black tracksuits, most with their faces covered, arrived back at the pub.
The victim was getting into a friend’s car outside when the youths turned up.
