Ian Griffin not fit for extradition hearing in Paris hotel death case

A WARRINGTON businessman arrested for the murder of his millionairess girlfriend in France failed to make it to his extradition hearing yesterday.
Ian Griffin, 40, was arrested on June 1 after a week-long international manhunt found him hiding out in a patch of Cheshire woodland after his Porsche 911 was recovered in Warrington.
Police launched the search after the battered body of his girlfriend Kinga Legg was discovered at the Hotel Le Bristol, in Paris.
Yesterday, the sun salon impresario was due to appear before the City of Westminster magistrates.
But the court heard he was unfit to attend.
A court spokesman explained: “Mr Griffin was not produced today, he was unfit to be brought here from prison.
“He will be remanded while a psychiatric report is produced.”
Griffin previously fought extradition when he appeared at the same court at the beginning of the month.
The case has now been adjourned to June 26.
