THREE men have been acquitted of the gangland murder of a man in Liverpool.
There were cheers and applause at Liverpool Crown Court as murder charges against Tyrone Griffiths, Peter Agatha and Jason Thomas were dropped.
They were accused of plotting and carrying out the shooting of Ryan Woolley, 20, who was gunned down after picking up a pizza in Picton Road, Wavertree, on August 11, 2007.
Discharging the jury, Mr Justice Pitchford said: “I had to focus on the question of what evidence there was that Mr Griffiths was the gunman and I came to the conclusion there was practically none.”
