Jenny, who trained as a bike mechanic in Wirral, made her first appearance at the TTs in the pit lane as a mechanic a few years ago. She said: “I started riding on a little Suzuki bike when I was 17 and later moved on to bigger bikes.
“I always wanted to ride in the TT but I was never allowed when I was in the 125cc class until I moved up to the 600 class. It has been brilliant.”
Bill Smith, 74, brought Honda success in the 500 and 250cc classes with three dominant victories.
He said: “Jenny gave a fantastic performance at the TT, which just shows her ability. She is dedicated to racing.
“There were no women taking part when I started off. Beryl Swain was the first solo woman to complete in the early 1960s.
“There was a feeling that the Isle of Man TT was too dangerous a race for solo women competitors but since then there have been a lot of girls.
“It is a challenge for a lady because it is so strenuous.”
