Merseyside yob is knifed after hate campaign

A YOB was knifed in the street after an alleged campaign of harassment against a Merseyside family.

John Paul Rea, 19, known to police as a “one-man crimewave”, was stabbed in the chest and side after a car was smashed up in Litherland on Tuesday.

A 47-year-old woman was arrested on suspi-cion of attempted murder. She was later released on police bail by detectives.

Rea, a prolific offender with a string of convictions, collapsed in Violet Road as he sprinted down the street with a gang of youths.

Nearby residents said he was part of a mob seen wrecking a car. Around a dozen yobs were seen hurling bricks and breaking the windows..

Detectives arrested two men on suspicion of wounding and dangerous driving and another for perverting the course of justice.
