THIS week is national bicycle week, and with rising fuel prices hitting the headlines and hitting our pockets again, there’s no better time to get on your bike.
The TravelWise Cycle Challenge is being launched this week. There is a range of bike- related activities, including free bike checks this Friday at Calderstones Park, from 11am-2pm. Bring your bike to The Studio at the Coach House and Cycling Solutions will be on hand to give your bike a safety check.
Later in the day, from 3.45 – 5.45pm, they’ll be doing the same at Wavertree Athletics Centre.
Then, on Sunday, July 5, at 2pm, there’s the great Loopline Wonder Ride, starting at the Falstaff Public House, Gateacre Park Drive.
On Saturday, July 11, there’s the Sketch and Pedal Cycle, with Liverpool Biennial artist, Kerry Morrison, stopping along the canal to paint and draw – materials and a picnic provided.
Meet at 2pm at Seaforth and Litherland train station.
The next day, Sunday, July 12, again at 2pm, Stanley Park has a circular ride starting at the Glasshouse.
All participants will receive a personalised TravelWise Cycle Challenge pack packed with free gifts and tips for this summer.
