Alleged Huyton cannabis dealer hands himself into police after decade on the run

A MERSEYSIDE fugitive handed himself into police after a decade on the run.

Robert Stephen Gerrard, 46, formerly of Alder Avenue, Huyton, was wanted by police over £1m cannabis find in 1998.

He was one of six men charged with conspiracy to supply drugs in December, 1998, but failed to show for a magistrates hearing in March, 1999.

A warrant was issued for his arrest and remained active until Monday, when Gerrard walked into Wavertree police station with his solicitor to give himself up. It is believed a deal was struck on Friday.
