Movie fans Count cost as Christopher Lee's Dracula’s cape sells at auction for £26,000

THE cape Sir Christopher Lee wore in the 1958 horror film, Dracula, sold at auction yesterday for £26,400.

Angels the Costumiers sold the item at Bonhams in Knightsbridge, central London, after it was estimated to fetch between £20,000 to £30,000.

Sir Christopher – who was recently knighted in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List – signed a letter confirming the garment’s authenticity.

The lot also came with a black and white still image of Sir Christopher playing the iconic character.

There were 251 lots at the entertainment memorabilia auction, selling for a total of £283,980, with many going to one mystery bidder.
