A 13-YEAR-OLD had his toes severed by a train after a fight involving another boy.
The horrific incident happened at Little Sutton railway station, Wirral.
It is understood that the boy fell onto the track while a train was at the station.
He was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital for treatment to injuries to his foot.
The other boy at the scene, also 13, was arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed until September 14.
British Transport Police spokesman Glyn Hellam said: “There was an incident involving two 13-year-old boys, both from Little Sutton, on Sunday. One of the boys ended up on the tracks where he suffered injuries to his toes.
“There was a train in the station at the time and it is believed the train went over his foot.”
Rudi Boersma, spokesman for Merseyrail added: “The railway is not a place for youngsters to play, it can be a very dangerous place to be.
“In this case, something happened, we do not know what, exactly what at this time.”
