Woman assaulted by gang of thieves in Everton

A YOUNG woman was sexually assaulted after being dragged out of bed by a violent gang of burglars.

The gang forced their way in through the front and back doors of the house in Everton.

They assaulted the 24-year-old woman and beat up a 28-year-old man before escaping with a 42in flat screen TV, a 32in flat screen TV and a Playstation 3.

Both needed hospital treatment, the man suffering a perforated ear drum.

The woman fled the house and raised the alarm with a neighbour who was also attacked.

Described as white and aged between 17 and 24, the men all smelled strongly of alcohol.

Residents described it as the latest in a string of attacks by a gang of youths whose raids are becoming increasingly terrifying.

Detective Inspector Dominic Harrison said: “This was a particularly violent and cowardly attack.”
