Alternative Ladies Day attracts hundreds of race lovers to Aintree Racecourse
THE North-West’s largest alternative to Ascot’s Ladies Day celebrated its 10th anniversary yesterday.
Aintree Racecourse attracted more than 450 women to celebrate their own Ladies Day with racing beamed live from Ascot.
Punters were able to compete for race prizes to raise funds for Alder Hey’s Imagine Appeal.
With The New Football Pools, previously known as Littlewoods Gaming, supporting the event for the seventh year running.
Chris Done, senior fundraising manager for Imagine said: “This is such a popular event that we don’t need to advertise for ticket sales as people come back year after year. It’s wonderful to see the ladies dressed in their fabulous outfits
“This year, we have even had a few brave men who come along to enjoy the day, too.”
The Imagine Appeal was launched in 2005 to help the hospital continue with its pioneering work.
