Trendy Liverpool friends see their picture hung in the National Conservation Centre as part of new exhibition

TWO Liverpool friends will see a picture of themselves hung in the National Conservation Centre.

Abby Hewitson and Laura Johnson won a competition and had their photograph taken yesterday by photographer Francesco Melina.

It will hang as part of the exhibition, Sound and Vision: Music and Fashion, charting the musical history of Liverpool between 1978-82.

Liverpool designer Kirsty Doyle and National Museum’s community consultation co-ordinator, Helen Robinson, sifted through hundreds of entrants.

Kirsty, 2006 winner of Project Catwalk, said: “I chose them because their style is a mixture of the classic and contemporary rock-chick look, right through the eras.”
