A MAN was taken to hospital yesterday morning with burns to his right hand.
Two fire engines were called to a bedroom fire in apartments in Old Haymarket, Liverpool city centre, at around 4am.
On arrival, firefighters found a bed fire in a first floor apartment and used a jet to dowse the flames.
The man, who escaped the fire, was taken by ambulance to The Royal. The flat and landing and staircase suffered smoke damage.
