GORDON BROWN sent his condolences to the families of the two dead British hostages last night as he called on their kidnappers to release the remaining three captives “immediately”.
Speaking at Downing St, the Prime Minister said: “There is no justification for hostage-taking and I call on those holding them to release them immediately.”
Mr Brown said he had contacted the Iraqi Prime Minister and was working to secure the remaining hostages' release “as soon as possible”.
He said: “Today the families of Jason Creswell and Jason Swindlehurst have had the worst possible news after two years of very anxious waiting.
“I want to send the families our very sincere condolences.”
