On Saturday, Mr Moore returned to the town to lead a protest with German animal rights activist Matilda.
They headed a group of 150 supporters from all over Spain escorted by a detachment of paramilitary Civil Guards in riot gear.
Even so, plastic cups and drinks bottles were thrown atMr Moore and Matilda as more than a thousand locals jeered the protesters.
One of the group was hit by an egg thrown from the crowd. Mr Moore said afterwards: "It felt as if we had replaced the bull as the attraction for the crowd.
“There must have been a thousand or more of them lining the streets and watching from walls and balconies.
“They gave us a very unfriendly and noisy reception. But the turn-out by our supporters was very impressive.
“There were three bus-loads who had come from many parts of Spain.
"If Vicki had still been alive, she would have been here.
“But I am sure her spirit was with us,” he added.
