Caravan catches fire at Liverpool’s historic Stanley Dock

FIREFIGHTERS were called to the city’s historic Stanley Dock yesterday afternoon when a caravan caught fire.

Crews from Kirkdale fought the blaze, which destroyed the caravan and its contents.

The caravan was in the warehouse car park.

It is not known how the fire, which broke out shortly after 1pm, started.

In a separate incident, a large quantity of breakfast cereals were destroyed in a fire at a Merseyside production plant.

Crews were called to Cereal Partners, Bromborough, Wirral, at around 5.30pm.

Fire officials said that no-one was injured in the fire, which also damaged a steel grain hopper on the factory site.
