We do our best to help needy, says award winner
DIETITIAN Maura O’Donnell was delighted to be voted overall Woman of the Year by Daily Post readers.
She said at the ceremony: “It is amazing to receive something like this.
“I’ve won a raffle for the first time in my life today, and now this fantastic award.”
She joined Vitaflo, based in Liverpool’s Brunswick Dock, in 1997. The company provides dietary treatments for children and adults with rare genetic metabolic illnesses. They also develop supplements for people with malnutrition as a result of diseases like cancer.
Maura has been involved in this sort of research for 30 years.
Vitaflo has a turnover of £12m and employs 40 people. Maura joined as a director in 1997 shortly after it was set up by colleagues and helped steer it into its current global position.
