Riverside housing agency boss Deborah Shackleton made CBE

THE chief executive of a Merseyside social landlord which manages 50,000 homes has been made a CBE for services to the housing sector.

Deborah Shackleton is head of Riverside Housing, managing 2,000 staff and a turnover of £180m.

Crosby-based Deborah, joined Riverside in 1993, and has led the organisation from a predominantly North West-based housing association to becoming one of the largest registered social landlords in the country.

She said: “Recognition through the CBE award is fantastic. But equally important is the momentous year its been for Riverside.

“And to achieve Social Landlord of the Year again was the icing on the cake.”

Deborah received her CBE from Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace, with husband Martin and her sons Adam and Luke.
