THE recording studio where some of the country’s leading musical talents recorded some of their best-known works has a new lease of life, after being taken over by a dynamic new team.
Parr Street Studios’ Studio 3 is where Chris Martin wrote some of Coldplay’s biggest hits, including The Scientist, and has been used by everyone from Echo and the Bunnymen to Oasis and (former owner) Phil Collins over the years.
Beatmatch Productions have taken over the space after the lease became available, and plan to assist the careers of all bands great and small.
Managing director George Tudor-Williams said: “We had been looking for a studio area in the city centre, and Parr Street just had such unbelievable history.
“We plan to get artists in and produce, engineer, mix and master their tracks, as well as organising live events to help give them a foot in the door.
“We have a lot of experience dealing with the industry to help Liverpool bands really get to an advanced stage.”
Mr Tudor-Williams moved to Liverpool from Oxford to study at LIPA.
He has been involved in production and music since the age of 10.
At Beatmatch, he is accompanied by fellow alumni, producers Chris Deas and Richard Turvey.
