Liverpool celebrates faith at Liverpool Cathedral

A SWIRL of sunset colours flashed across Liverpool Cathedral as the city celebrated its religious diversity last night.

Hindu dancer Sonia Goyal danced in this beautiful red, orange and yellow outfit as part of the Liverpool Celebrates Faith evening.

She was joined by a band of Sikh drummers and faith leaders from across the city, who gave several presentations and enjoyed music and dance from around the world.

The evening was organised by Liverpool Charity and Voluntary Services (LCVS) and the Liverpool Faith Network.

Archbishop Patrick Kelly and Liverpool Faith Network chair Dr Shiv Pande were among those who attended.

LCVS philanthropy development manager Clare Beavan said: “Faith plays a vital part in many people’s lives.

“We hope this event will promote a better understanding of cultures and religion, and create some lasting links and friendships.”
