Work on Liverpool City Centre water pipeline begins

WORK is due to start next week on replacing old cast-iron water mains in Liverpool city centre.

United Utilities said the project, in Nelson Street, would improve water supply. It is expected to take up to 10 days to complete.

Due to the location of the existing water pipes, engineers will be making excavations in a number of pay and display parking bays.

Any affected bays will be suspended for the duration of the works and will be restricted to one side of Nelson Street. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

John Maher, United Utilities’ project engineer, said: “We will be working as quickly as possible to deliver these improvements.”
