A SEVEN-year-old girl watched in horror as a car smashed into her living room while she was watching television.
Megan O’Malley was waiting to go to the doctor at 10.30am yesterday when the bay window at the front of her home in October Drive, Tuebrook, smashed and a Volkswagen Polo careered into the room.
Upstairs, her mum Jenny O’Malley, 26, said: “I heard it and felt the bang – the whole house shook.
“My little girl came running up saying ‘mummy, mummy, there’s a car in the house’.
“When I came downstairs, the whole of the bonnet was sticking into the room.
“I just cannot understand how it happened.”
Miss O’Malley and her partner Matthew Evans, 28, only moved into the quiet cul-de-sac in April and had just began to settle down in the smart new estate close to Breck Park.
She said: “Megan normally sits on the sofa in the window but she was not yesterday, and it is things like that which make you glad in a way.
“I remember that incident in Queens Drive earlier this year when a lorry crashed into three houses.
“That was terrible but it was on a main road near a busy junction.
“This is normally a very quiet road.”
