A YOUNG pianist from Liverpool will showcase his musical abilities on national television today.
George Francis, 12, of Garston, was plucked from hundreds of musicians to star in the new CBBC series, Clash.
Viewers can see how the King David High School pupil copes as his skills are tested over six weeks.
His mother, Alison Francis, a 44-year-old programme administrator, said: “George’s dad Martin had piano lessons and, when George was seven, he asked if he could take it up.
“He loves playing the piano.
“George saw a notice on the BBC website saying they were looking for children who were interested in music.
“He made a DVD and sent it off. He then had an audition in Manchester during the Easter holidays and spent six weekends filming in London.
“He had never done anything like it before, but he is taking it all in his stride. We are very proud of him and his friends are really excited.”
