“Many of the people in 610 came from Levers and Bibby’s, they were all local andWirral Council still sends wreaths to the resting places of two of them who are buried in Kent. During the Battle of Britain 610 were in the thick of things flying from Biggin Hill and their forward base was in Kent.”
Graham Sparkes, director of the Hooton Park Trust said: “We are very grateful and anything that helps highlights our cause is welcome.
“The current situation is we have got started on one of the buildings with the help of English Heritage, replacing the central guttering to stabilise the roof. Hopefully the councillors will give us their support.”
