ELEVEN more cases in the Jersey historic child abuse inquiry have been dropped due to lack of evidence, police announced last night.
The island’s Attorney General, William Bailhache, ruled that no further action should be brought.
Last month, he rejected two other cases, including accusations against a couple alleged to have abused children in a Jersey home they ran in the 1980s.
One of the two former suspects, who were both living in France, has since died.
Jersey Police said it has told complainants about the decision.
Detective Superintendent Mick Gradwell said there are more files being considered by lawyers.
“It is stressed that inquiries into other allegations of historic abuse continue, and it would therefore not be appropriate at this stage to make any further comment in relation to these files.”
