MAKERS of spoof film Bruno have axed a scene featuring Michael Jackson’s sister to avoid offending her family when it is released nationwide this week.
They say the decision to remove more than a minute of the latest Sacha Baron Cohen parody featuring La Toya Jackson was made “out of respect” for the Jackson family.
Baron Cohen is normally known for his uncompromising approach to film-making and his last film, Borat, enraged many in Kazakhstan for portraying them as primitive and incestuous.
In the scene, La Toya visits gay Austrian fashion reporter Bruno (played by Baron Cohen) and is forced to eat sushi off the naked bodies of workmen at his apartment. He then tries to steal Michael’s number from her phone.
