Liverpool pair admit betting shop burglary

TWO men have admitted a burglary at a betting shop.

William Flounders, 51, and Brian Seddon, 45, pleaded guilty to the raid at the William Hill betting shop on Priory Road, Anfield.

They were caught by police on March 29, following the break-in at the shop.

Another man, Francis Deary, 48, of Steinberg Court, Vauxhall, pleaded not guilty to the single charge of burglary.

A further defendant, Gary Deary, did not enter a plea.

The 40-year-old, of Robsart Street, Everton, will appear back before the court on July 24 when he will be expected to enter a plea.

Judge Yvonne Coppel fixed a three-day trial for Francis Deary and Gary Deary for September 28.

Flounders, who was bailed with a condition of a curfew and to live at Vale Lodge, Walton, and Seddon, of Kimberley Drive, Great Crosby, who was remanded in custody, will be sentenced following the trial.

All the men had originally been charged with conspiracy to burgle, but Anya Horwood, prosecuting, asked for the charge to be altered at the beginning of the hearing.
