THE North West’s only 4-D experience will soon open at the Beatles Story’s second home, at the Pier Head, with Fab4D expected to become an instant hit with visiting families from across the world.
The multi-sensory animation created by Red Star 3-D is set in Liverpool’s only 4-D cinema.
It will be housed at the Beatles Story, Pier Head, which opened on May 21 despite the tough economic climate. The second home of the Beatles Story increased the workforce by more than 50%.
Jerry Goldman, managing director of the Beatles Story, said: “The Beatles’ Story expansion in the Albert Dock in 2008 was incredibly beneficial, both to the business and to Liverpool, and we are determined to continue this growth with significant investment in our second site and in the 4-D experience at the Pier Head.
“We did all of the usual risk assessments that go into planning an expansion such as this.
“Of course, when we were in the planning stages, the full bite of the recession hadn’t been felt.
“But we didn’t open the second site for short- term gain. It is an investment in the future of Liverpool.
“We are now embarking on a joint venture with Liverpool Football Club to take Liverpool, the brand, out there to the world.
“We have partnered under the name ‘Imagine Liverpool’ as what are the two things people think of when they think of Liverpool? The Beatles and LFC.
“It is about selling Liverpool to outside countries and showing them what we have to offer.
“I feel this is where the legacy of the European Capital of Culture year fell down. They didn’t realise 2009 came after 2008.
“Liverpool needed continuity in its marketing after the Culture Year. So we are left to do it ourselves.
