LIFE ran at snail’s pace for Liverpool’s Lord Mayor when he opened a new creepy-crawly centre.
Cllr Mike Storey visited the new BugWorld Experience, at Albert Dock, to officially open the attraction with help from pupils of St Paul’s junior school, in West Derby.
Visitors can view 33 different bug species and are able to stroke giant hissing cockroaches.
For those who are not satisfied with just looking, visitors can even eat them.
A variety of insect delicacies are served up in the cafe, including baked tarantula.
The opening ceremony was also the first official outing for Young Lord Mayor of Liverpool, Emily Heeney.
