RAIDS across north Liverpool today saw nine suspects arrested for the murder of a teenage army cadet.

Police strike teams targeted addresses in Vauxhall early this morning after eight months of investigation into the fatal stabbing of 16-year-old Joseph Lappin.

The former Cardinal Heenan pupil was knifed to death in an unprovoked attack on him and two friends on October 20.

The three boys were waiting outside the Shrewsbury House Youth Club, in Langrove Street, Everton, when they were chased by a gang.

Joseph, from Old Swan, was stabbed through the heart and made it back into the youth club, where he had been for the first time that night to watch a friend’s band, before collapsing.

He died at the scene.

His friend, Callum Naden, 17, was also stabbed but survived.
