DETECTIVES investigating the murder of a teenage Army cadet today arrested 10 people.
Joseph Lappin, 16, was stabbed through the heart after being chased by a gang on 20 October last year.
He had enjoyed a night with friends at the Shrewsbury House Youth Club in Everton, Liverpool.
It was the first time he attended the church building and did so to support a friend’s band.
He and friend Callum Naden, 17, were waiting for a lift home when they were confronted and chased back to the youth club where they sought safety.
But Joseph, a member of the Liverpool Scottish Regiment, received a fatal stab wound and Callum was knifed twice.
Today, Merseyside Police launched a series of early morning raids across the city’s Vauxhall district.
As the day went on the number of arrests rose and in the late afternoon a 10th suspect - an 18-year-old man - was arrested in Vauxhall, north Liverpool.
Those detained were being held at police stations across Merseyside, where they will be questioned today.
