Travel presenter Judith Chalmers’ flying visit to Wirral

TELEVISION travel presenter Judith Chalmers has handed over a new minibus to a Merseyside school.

The 17-seater was donated to Foxfield School in Moreton by the Lord’s and Lady’s Taverners and is sponsored by Silversea Cruises.

The 72-year-old holiday veteran, who travelled the world for TV’s Wish You Were Here, visited the school.

Part of the cash was raised by the school’s Parent Teacher Association, which collected cash at charity events.

Deputy headteacher Paul Howley said: “The minibus is invaluable. Without the minibus, we would not be able to provide enjoyable curriculum we do.

“The school concentrates an increasing amount of time on independent living skills for pupils as the move up.”.”

The Lord’s Taverners focuses its fund-raising on specially adapted minibuses and sport and recreation for young people with special needs.
